This a site where I journal about my ceramic studio practice, my general passion for ceramics and pottery and show some of my work. I hope you’ll enjoy it.
I was born in 1973 in South Africa and now live in New Zealand. In 1993 I graduated from Durban University of Technology and received awards including the Agfa Award for highest achieving Design student.
I have been dabbling with clay since 1986 and have since had huge fun experimenting with all sorts of clays, glazes, construction, decorating and firing methods, styles and influences.
The style I’ve particularly enjoyed working in for years is wheel-thrown high-fired stoneware and porcelain. I’m a firm believer in form following function and have a passion for making functional ware. Have a look at the History page and read where my love of pottery and ceramics originated and what my influences have been over the years.
